The ³Ô¹ÏÍø Hub for Community Solutions is pleased to be a partner in presenting the ³Ô¹ÏÍø-Brantford International Film Series, a joint initiative with ³Ô¹ÏÍø and the City of Brantford.

Fall 2025 Series

The International Film Series is free to attend. All are welcome, no ticket required. Refreshments provided!

The International Film Series aims to provide an opportunity to share, reflect and celebrate different cultures, languages and cinematic art. Before each screening, we have also invited speakers to come and share insights and perspectives on the film. We hope this will help to spark additional understanding and appreciation for the film and its culture.

Films run on Thursdays. Doors at 6:30 p.m., film at 7 p.m.

Sept. 18:  (2011) (France)

When George, a silent movie superstar, meets Peppy Miller, a dancer, sparks fly between the two. However, after the introduction of talking pictures, their fortunes change, affecting their dynamic.

Oct. 2: (1988) (Italy)

Salvatore, a famous film director, returns to his hometown for the funeral of the local theater's film projectionist, Alfredo. He reminisces about his life as a young boy falling in love with cinema.

Oct. 23: (2021) (Denmark)

A man look back over his life as he grapples with a painful secret he has keep hidden for 20 years, one that threatens to derail the life he has built for himself and his soon to be husband.

Nov. 6: (2014) (China)

Lu and Feng are a devoted couple forced to separate when Lu is arrested and sent to a labor camp as a political prisoner during the Cultural Revolution. He finally returns home only to find that his beloved wife no longer recognizes him.

Nov. 20: (2020) (UK)

A man refuses all assistance from his daughter as he ages. When he tries to understand what is happening around him, he begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind and even the fabric of his reality.

Dec. 4:  (2023) (Italy, Belgium, France)

A Homeric fairy tale that tells the adventurous journey of two young boys, Seydou and Moussa, who leave Dakar to reach Europe.
