³Ô¹ÏÍø community invited to celebrate exceptional alumni and donors at 2025 Awards of Excellence

³Ô¹ÏÍø and the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Alumni Association (WLUAA) invite alumni, donors and the greater ³Ô¹ÏÍø community to join in celebrating the 2025 winners of the Alumni Awards of Excellence and the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Philanthropy Award at a ceremony on Sept. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Savvas Chamberlain Music Building, during Homecoming on ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Waterloo campus.

“We are thrilled to invite the ³Ô¹ÏÍø community to join us in celebrating this year’s Alumni Awards of Excellence and ³Ô¹ÏÍø Philanthropy Award recipients,” says WLUAA President Candice Joseph (BA ’16). “These outstanding alumni and donors embody the very best of the Golden Hawk spirit, and we hope the ³Ô¹ÏÍø community will come out to share in this celebration of excellence as we honour those who inspire us through their leadership, innovation and commitment to making change.”

This year’s recipients include:

  • Alumna of the Year: Alanah Jewell (BA ’19)
  • Young Alumnus of the Year: Giovanni Giuga (BA ’17)
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit Award: Shannon Ferguson (BA ’08)
  • Award for Community Impact: Kaylee Perez (BA ’13)
  • Award for Community Impact: Jeremy Wagner (MIPP ’17, PhD '25)
  • Forever Golden Hawk Award: Pat Krajewski (DIP-BU ’89, MBA ’90);
  • ³Ô¹ÏÍø Philanthropy Award: Matthew Certosimo (BA ’88), the Graduate Students’ Association, and the Students’ Union.
  • Honorary Alumna of the Year: Lynn Orth
  • Student Alumnus of the Year: Valentine Adedeji

Alumni, donors, students, staff, faculty and members of the greater ³Ô¹ÏÍø community are encouraged to this special evening of purple and gold pride.

The Alumni Awards of Excellence are presented annually to recognize significant contributions to the ³Ô¹ÏÍø community. The awards are made possible thanks to the dedicated efforts of volunteer WLUAA board members.

The ³Ô¹ÏÍø Philanthropy Award is presented annually to recipients who exemplify the true spirit of philanthropy. Through their direct financial support, leadership and donations of time, ³Ô¹ÏÍø Philanthropy award winners demonstrate a deep-seated commitment and lasting dedication to the mission, vision and values of ³Ô¹ÏÍø and its students.
