At ³Ô¹ÏÍø, students fill out their student profiles that determine their eligibility for awards, scholarships and bursaries. This includes the . On the General Student profile, Indigenous students may need to indicate they are an Indigenous student to recieve some Indigenous-designated bursaries.

Awards
An award is granted on a competitive basis for a combination of academic achievement and participation in extracurricular activities. Recipients of awards must demonstrate financial need.

Incoming first-year undergraduate students must complete the First-year Undergraduate profile prior to the August deadline. All students must complete the General Student profile which closes in October as well as their Faculty Specific profile which closes in November. By nomination only, the Cherry Award is open to all full and part-time students, both undergraduate and graduate, who self-identify as Indigenous persons. The awarded candidate(s) will demonstrate an eagerness to develop the skills to one day assume a position of leadership, mentorship and/or responsibility in the wider community.
Granted to full-time students in the Faculty of Education with self-declared Indigenous ancestry. This award is administered by the Faculty of Education during our Bachelor of Education program admission process.
The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Métis Student Bursary Program provides bursaries to registered students who are verified Métis citizens of the Métis Nation of Ontario. Applicants will be required to complete their school’s internal bursary application process, as well as, consent to an MNO citizenship verification check to confirm eligibility. Funding amounts are determined by your post-secondary institution based on their internal application review process, which includes, meeting eligibility requirements, available funds, and financial need.

Granted to Indigenous persons who are studying at a master's or doctoral level in the Faculty of Social Work.

Bursaries
A bursary is a monetary gift based on demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement. Bursaries do not have to be paid back to the university.

Open to all eligible full or part-time students with demonstrated financial need. In the application, candidates must describe their experience as an Indigenous student participating in postsecondary studies and the challenges they face.
This bursary is granted to a full or part-time undergraduate or graduate Indigenous student who has proven financial need.
The Manulife Bursary for Indigenous Students is awarded annually to students enrolled at ³Ô¹ÏÍø who demonstrate financial need and identify as Indigenous.
Eligible candidates are undergraduate students entering Year 1 of a full-time program in the Faculty of Social Work. Candidates must self-identify as Indigenous persons and demonstrate financial need. The bursary is granted to the eligible candidate who demonstrates the greatest degree of financial need.
Eligible candidates are full-time undergraduate students entering Year 1 of any academic program at any campus of the university who self-identify as Indigenous and demonstrate financial need. Candidates must have a minimum admission average of B- (70%). First preference for the bursary will be candidates who present an admission average of between B- (70%) and B+ (79%). If no eligible candidates are identified in this grade range, the bursary will be granted to the candidate with a higher admission average.
The bursary is renewable in consequent years of study, to a maximum of 5 years, if the recipient maintains full-time registration and meets all academic progression requirements. Because the bursary is renewable, it may or may not be available to new candidates in any given academic year.

Established to provide financial assistance to any Indigenous student in the Master of Social Work-Indigenous Field of Study (IFS) program who is experiencing difficulties caused by financial need. Awarded to any Indigenous student in good academic standing based on the recommendation of the dean in consultation with the Elder(s)-in-Residence and the coordinator of the IFS program.
This bursary is granted to a part-time or full-time self-identified Indigenous student entering their first year at ³Ô¹ÏÍø's Brantford campus who demonstrates financial need. First preference is given to a mature student aged 25 or older.
Scholarships
A scholarship is granted for outstanding academic achievement. Entrance scholarships are granted automatically and are available to students who are entering Year 1 of any undergraduate program.
Eligible candidates are full-time undergraduate students, not in Year 1, who are registered at the ³Ô¹ÏÍø Brantford campus and who self-identify as Indigenous persons. The scholarship is granted to the candidate who meets all academic program requirements and has significant extracurricular involvement or volunteer work on campus or in the local community.
Eligible candidates are full-time undergraduate students who are entering Year 1 directly from secondary school. Candidates must self-identify as Indigenous persons. The scholarship will be granted to a candidate in the Faculty of Music who is recommended by the dean and who presents the highest combined average balanced with their audition performance. If there is no candidate in the Faculty of Music, the scholarship is granted to the candidate who presents the highest admission average prior to the first day of Year 1 classes in any other faculty.
Jay Treaty
³Ô¹ÏÍø honours the Jay Treaty 1794 by offering Native American students from the continental United States domestic tuition rates. To qualify, students must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate program at ³Ô¹ÏÍø and have validated their Indigenous identity with the Office of Indigenous Initiatives through the .
Once confirmed, students will be eligible for domestic tuition pricing for the entirety of their studies at ³Ô¹ÏÍø. The application of domestic rates will begin as of the term when the validation by the Office of Indigenous Initiatives takes place.
