The work that ³Ô¹ÏÍø completed in 2024 to advance SDG 4.
Beginning in Fall 2025, ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s reconstructed Bachelor of Music program will offer students unparalleled flexibility and inclusivity, allowing students the choice to specialize in a specific genre and explore various musical styles. The program will welcome students from all musical backgrounds, including classical, jazz, opera, rock, pop, musical theatre and more.
³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Bachelor of Education program, offered at the Waterloo and Brantford campuses, is playing a crucial role in producing highly qualified professionals to work in schools in Waterloo Region, the Brantford area, and surrounding communities at a time when many school boards are reporting teacher shortages.
Together with educators, regional innovation laboratories and principals’ associations, a team of researchers from ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Faculty of Education is using generative AI to develop a chatbot that supports principals in their decision-making. PrincipalBot provides quick access to important information, such as school board policies, human rights legislation and community resources, that principals can call upon when needed.
Enova Power Corp. (Enova), Waterloo Region’s largest electric utility provider, offers ³Ô¹ÏÍø students career-ready experiences in geographic information systems, information technology and corporate communications, among other areas, through in-course projects and paid co-op work terms. Community-workplace partnerships and co-op allow ³Ô¹ÏÍø students to apply classroom learning to real-world projects and develop future-ready skills while providing employers with creative and innovative emerging talent.

The brings together ³Ô¹ÏÍø faculty, staff and students, as well as researchers and partners from external community organizations with backgrounds in education, psychology, kinesiology, music, health studies, biology, languages and literatures, history, social work, youth and children’s studies, global studies and more. The centre aspires to support research and research-related activities in education. A salient feature of CLRiE is its focus on interdisciplinarity, encouraging the development of thoughtful, balanced and creative approaches to educational research in a changing world.

The program is backed by ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s reputation for academic quality and teaching excellence and inspired by our local and global community needs. ³Ô¹ÏÍø Continuing Education allows more flexibility, relevancy and openness for professional and community-focused learning.
³Ô¹ÏÍø’s Faculty of Education offers a Bachelor of Education degree integrating theory and practice to develop teachers for a changing world. Our program includes diverse courses and substantial practical experience in partner schools and alternative placements, both locally and globally. ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s interdisciplinary Master of Education program provides educational leaders and professionals from a wide range of employment fields with an advanced and integrated conceptual understanding of the relationship between educational theory, practice and reflection. The Master of Education, Student Affairs Field allows candidates to focus their studies related to educational theories and practices with a specific focus on student affairs and services at the postsecondary level.
